Hyundai Motor has revealed the Ioniq 3, the youngest member of its Ioniq electric lineup, joining the larger Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Hyundai Ioniq 6. Positioned as a compact hatchback, it focuses on everyday usability, efficiency and interior space rather than outright performance.
The Ioniq 3 introduces Hyundai's new 'Art of Steel' design language alonside a new "Aero Hatch” silhouette, designed to balance aerodynamic efficiency with interior space.
The roofline runs flat across the cabin before tapering sharply toward the rear, a layout that prioritises rear headroom while maintaining a low drag coefficient, claimed at 0.263.
Underpinning the car is the E-GMP platform, here using a 400-volt electrical system rather than the higher-voltage setup seen in larger Ioniq models.

Two battery configurations are offered: a 42.2 kWh pack with a projected WLTP range of 344 km, and a 61 kWh unit targeting up to 496 km. Fast charging from 10 to 80 percent is quoted at around 29 minutes under optimal conditions.
Performance figures remain modest. The front-wheel-drive setup produces between 135 PS (99 kW) and 147 PS (108 kW), with 250 Nm of torque and a claimed 0–100 km/h time of around 9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 170 km/h.

Inside, the Ioniq 3 prioritises packaging efficiency. A flat floor and long 2,680 mm wheelbase allow for a relatively spacious five-seat layout, with the rear bench designed to accommodate three adults. Boot capacity stands at 441 litres, including an underfloor storage compartment.

Technology is centred around a new infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS. Depending on the variant, display sizes range from 12.9 to 14.6 inches. Other features include digital key functionality, route-based charging planning and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.

Driver assistance systems fall under Hyundai’s SmartSense suite, with features such as Highway Driving Assist 2, remote parking assist and blind-spot monitoring available depending on specification.
The Ioniq 3 will be produced in Turkey for the European market, with its rollout beginning in Europe before expanding to other regions.
